Another Day in the Life of a Cubs Fan

July 22, 2008

Well yesterday’s game was pretty bad, but also pretty good at the same time. We may have lost, but Harden was outstanding. He had a quality start and if it hadn’t been for Romero’s homerun in the sixth, he would have had a no hitter when they took him out. It seems like this trade could be better than the Brewers CC trade. In Harden’s first two starts he has given up one run and has had 20 strikeouts. He is absouletly amazing. It is sad that he has yet to get a win with these numbers, but that’s just pitching. We’ll see how things go today with Marquis pitching, he can be amazing on some days, but he has also been horrible multiple times this year. We will just have to wait and see. On another note, Soriano seems to be fully healed and ready to come back. He was an a rehab start as a DH in the minors yesterday and took a bunch near the hands and it didn’t seem to bother him. He is starting in left field today and if all goes well he may be back tomorrow. He is just what we need after yesterday’s offensive preformance. However, yesterday was more bad news than good. It looks like Kerry Wood won’t be pitching till at least the weekend. Let’s all just hope that today’s game goes a little better than last nights. I mean come on, Arizona is in the worst league in baseball and aren’t even at 500. With the Brewers and Cards playing each other, with a win we will gain a game lead on one of them. We all know the Cubs are the best team in the national league, and with so many guys not getting a break during the all-star break due to them being in it, just aren’t as refreshed as the rest. By next week we should be back in full swing and pulling away again.
